Maulden Neighbourhood Plan Logo

Maulden is a village in Bedfordshire, UK and is a Designated Neighbourhood Area.

Steering group members maintain this site as way to bring together the various aspects of the neighbourhood plan: housing, social, business, environmental, regulatory, minutes etc

Latest: March 2022

Since our last formal meeting on 26th January we have met a further four times (2nd, 9th, 24th and 28th February) to complete the review of the Regulation 14 village responses.  I now need to formally document this and send a response to all those who participated in the consultation.

The Regulation 14 statutory responses have been considered and will be agreed at our next formal meeting planned for 16th March.

The LGS responses are currently being considered and the Consultation Statement is also being completed.

Our small group is working hard and once we have completed these documents and made the necessary amendments we can proceed to the Regulation 16 consultation and examination which should be in the summer.

Background

A group of volunteers are working to help Maulden Parish Council create a Neighbourhood Plan.

Neighbourhood planning gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area. They are able to choose where they want new homes, shops and offices to be built, have their say on what those new buildings should look like and what infrastructure should be provided, and grant planning permission for the new buildings they want to see go ahead. Neighbourhood planning provides a powerful set of tools for local people to ensure that they get the right types of development for their community where the ambition of the neighbourhood is aligned with the strategic needs and priorities of the wider local area.
